If you have an Illinois driver's license or state ID, you may register online through the Illinois State Board of Elections website. Use this ID card to register to vote or to change your name or address.

IN PERSON
When Early Voting: You must show two (2) forms of ID. At least one (1) ID must list your current address. Find your early voting site.
At Your Precinct Polling Place on Election Day: You must show two (2) forms of ID. At least one (1) ID must list your current address. You may also register at Vote Centers on Election Day.
At the Illinois Secretary of State's Office if also obtaining a new driver's license or state ID during that visit.

WHAT IS YOUR VOTING PLAN?
EARLY VOTING
Early in-person voting will begin on October 3rd. Any voter in Chicago can vote at any Early Voting site, no matter where they live in the city. Voters can choose whatever voting site is most convenient for them, including on Election Day.
All Early Voting locations are ADA-compliant and fully accessible to voters with disabilities.
BY MAIL
The deadline to apply to Vote By Mail for the upcoming election is October 31, 2024 by 5:00pm.
You may also submit a paper version of the Vote By Mail application (which is available for download in the previous section).
ON ELECTION DAY
On November 5, 2024, voters may choose to vote in one of the following ways:
At your precinct polling place from 6:00am - 7:00pm. Click here to find your assigned precinct polling place.
At one of the 51 vote centers open from 6:00am - 7:00pm. 50 Ward sites and the downtown Supersite (191 N. Clark) will be open as vote centers on Election Day.
